Hull has an Audition Trend Again!

This year we had four students from the Hull Music Program audition for the state level district music festival!  In November, Junior Ricky Barone (tenor saxophonist), auditioned for the Senior Southeastern District Music Festival.  Even though he scored respectably well for his first state audition, he missed the cut off score to allow him to participate in this year's Band/Orchestra.  However, he did participate in the local Senior SEMSBA Music Festival last year as Hull's first instrumental student since the early 1980s!  We also had Freshmen, Jimmy Barone and Ben Fenelon (both trumpet players) audition last weekend for the Junior Southeastern District Music Festival.  The fourth student to audition was Robert Hunter (Jazz Piano) from Memorial Middle School.  Both Ben and Jimmy earned respectable scores for their auditions.  In fact, Jimmy scored high enough to earn him a seat in the Junior District Music Festival that will take place in March!!!  All three high school students will perform their audition pieces at this year's Winter Concert next Wednesday at 7 PM in the Joseph C. Doniger Auditorium (Hull High School).  Hope to see you there.
