World War II Museum Field Trip

The juniors in Ms. Cowen's US History II classes and Mr. MacKenzie's AP US History classes had a great time exploring the collection of over 7,000 authentic WWII artifacts at the Museum of World War II on Wednesday. Some stand-outs included the many rifles and other weapons the students were able to handle, German enigma machines, prisoners' belongings from Nazi concentration camps, propaganda posters, spy gear, parachutes from D-Day, and of course the Sherman tank!

A big 'Thank You' to the Hull PTO and Hull Boosters Club for helping to fund this great experience.

Hull participates in Music Festival

This past Friday and Saturday two of our Band students participated in the Southeastern Junior District Music Festival at Taunton High School. Hull High School 9th grader, Jimmy Barone (trumpet), was one of 118 musicians in the concert band and Memorial Middle School 8th grader, Robert Hunter (piano), was one of 20 musicians in the Jr. Jazz Band. Both students had a very rewarding musical experience in that they were performing with some of the best 7th, 8th, and 9th grade musicians in the South Shore area. Hull Public Schools haven’t sent a student to this music festival since the 1980’s and we look forward to sending even more next year!

Congratulations to both students! Recordings of the concert can be found soon on the Southeastern District MMEA website: http://www.semmea.org/
