Hull High School's 2nd Annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest

On Thursday, December 19th Mrs. Troy and the HHS student council dared our students and faculty members to wear their ugliest holiday sweater to school. The results did not disappoint as snowmen, reindeer, sequins, and tinsel ruled the day at HHS.

Grade 9: Kiernan Leahy for his "Bill Cosby Throwback Sweater"

Grade 10:  Austin Cedarquist for his "Let it Snow Sweater"

Grade 11:  Douglas Gibbons for his "Ode to Ugly Sweaters Ugly Sweater"

Grade 12:  Denver Lincoln for his "Dumbledore Looking Santa Sweater"

Special Team Award:  Mrs. Troy, Ms. Held, and Haley Muir for their "Matching Human Christmas Tree Sweaters"

Thank you to the student council and Mrs. Troy for bringing some holiday fun to HHS this week.

Southeastern District MMEA (Massachusetts Music Educators Association)

On November 23rd two Hull High School students, Allie Rosembaum and Eric Daniels, auditioned for a seat in the Chorus in this year’s Southeastern Senior District Festival.   It has been several years since any student from Hull High School has auditioned for this festival.  The two students were competing against hundreds of other vocalists from Randolph to the Cape.  This was Allie’s first festival audition and Eric’s second.  We congratulate both students for bringing Hull’s music program back to the Senior District level.  Both students scored very well, and we are pleased to tell you that Eric Daniel’s will be a part of the tenor section in this year’s Senior District festival at the beginning of January.  Eric also received an All-State recommendation to audition for the All-State Chorus at the end of January.  We wish him good luck at that audition.

PHI Helping out at Father Bill's Place

Hull High School's service organization, PHI (Project Humanitarian Involvement) exists for the sole purpose of helping others.  All students can participate in PHI activities.  If you have any questions about the group or ideas for service project, please contact PHI advisor Tim MacKenzie at tmackenzie@town.hull.ma.us or PHI President Danielle Hooper at djhoop2@comcast.net.

This past November the PHI group went to Father Bill's homeless shelter in Quincy and painted the women's dorm.  The group worked very efficiently together and was able to complete the project in just a few hours with great results.
