New scholarships below the cut
1. Boston University Trustee Scholarship Competition
Award: Full, renewable scholarship to BU for 4 years
Requirements:
- Top 10% of the class of 2013 (rank 1 - 10)
- Leaders within their school and community
- Applying to BU for the fall of 2013
- Mr. Devine can nominate one senior for the award.
- The nominated student must go to www.bu.edu/admissions/trustee and fill out all the necessary forms as well as write the essay.
- After all materials are submitted, the Trustee Scholars Committee at BU chooses the 20 students (from all those who were nominated nationwide) who will be named Trustee Scholars.
How to Apply:
- Submit a resume to the guidance office with a note attached to it, expressing your interest in applying for the "BU Trustee Scholarship."

2. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Program
Award: $1,000.00
Requirements:
- Graduating high school senior
- Entering an accredited two-or four-year university or vocational institute
- Must have an officially established business
- Student applies directly to the NFIB (www.nfib.com/yea)
- An independent selection committee will choose the semi-finalists who will be notified and given further instructions in January, 2013.

3. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Programs
Award: Range in value from $5,000 - $20,000
Requirements:
- Must have financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family is preferred)
- Have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.
- Must graduate in the spring/summer of 2013
- Committment to pursue a Bachelor's degree
- Must be a United States citizen
- Involvement in co-curricular and community activities
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Go to www.horatioalger.org/scholarships and apply.
- Student must submit one support and verification form. This form should be completed by the student's counselor and must be submitted online. It is the student's responsiblity to notify the counselor they've applied and provide any necessary instructions on filling out the form.
4. Danforth Scholars Program at Washington University
Award: Full or partial tuition scholarships renewed each year for the duration of the degree program, provided the student progresses academically and upholds the high standard of character required of scholars.
Requirements:
- Applying to Washington University for the fall of 2013
- Outstanding academic performance
- Exceptional committment to community service
- High moral characters
- Mr. Devine can nominate one senior for the award.
- After the student is nominated a WU selection committee will select up to 40 finalists nationwide who will be contacted and given further instruction.
- Submit a resume to the guidance office with a note attached to it, expressing your interest in applying for the "Danforth Scholars."
