1.  Buick Achievers Scholarship Program

Award:  Up to $25,000.00

Requirements:
  • High school seniors
  • Must plan to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university in 2013-2014
  • Those who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry

2.  The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusetts Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500.00

Application Requirements:
  • Statement of needs of a scholarship (include family circumstances)
  • One (1) adult personal letter of reference from outside the school
  • Two (2) educational letters of reference
  • Academic/scholastic record from high school
  • Personal statement explaining your goals, financial status, members of your family, etc.

Deadline:  March 15, 2013



3.  Massachusetts Broacasters Association

Award:  $2,000.00 to $3,000.00

Requirements:
  • Must be a Massachusetts resident
  • Plans to enroll at an accredited two or four-year school with a major or intention of studying over-the-air broadcasting.

4.  Hull Youth Football Association 

Award:  Up to $500.00 

Requirements:
  • Graduating senior who participated in Football/Cheer through the HYFA program

5. William T. Adams Memorial Scholarship
 
Award:  $1,000.00

Requirements:  Graduating senior from the South Shore who plans to pursue music as a major in college.

 6.  Rotary Club of Hingham & Hull - Service Above Self Scholarships for 2013

Award:  $3,000.00

Requirements:
  • Student must have demonstrated academic acheivement, volunteer service to their schools, communities, others in need or charitable organzizations.
  • Has been enrolled at HHS since January of their sophomore year
  • The Rotary Club awards scholarships on the basis of: Scholastic ability and acheivement, community involvement, financial requirements, recommendations of school guidance counselors, teachers, community leaders, or employers.

How to Apply: 

Step 1:
The student must write a letter of application in which he/she indicates clearly any extracurricular activities, mentoring, volunteerism, assistance, or other contributions that benefited others or the community.   Employment during after school hours and summer jobs will be considered in lieu of some volunteer time.  Activities that demonstrate "Service Above Self", the motto of the Rotary Club, is the important part of the qulifications for scholarship.

A statement of eductional plans, the higher education institution that the applicant hopes to attend, and a the names of colleges that have accepted him/her for admission.  A brief summary of financial requirements and need should also be included.

Step 2:
Student should include in the package a copy of the student's high school transcript; and, a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) Part I from the College Scholarship Service representing evident of financial need, or equivalent.

7. Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program 

Please go to  http://www.act.org/kohls/ for all the information on this scholarship.  Students can be nominated by any person over the age of 21 (including their parents or other family members).

8.  New England Counselors of Color Bridging Access to College

Award:  $300.00 

Requirements:
  • A student of color, graduating from a high school in New England, and attending a NECBAC affiliated school.
    • "Who is a student of color?  Any student who identifies as Hispanic/Latino, African-American, Native American, or Asian-American is eligible for the scholarship.  Bi-racial students are considered a student of color if they self-identify as a student from one of the above mentioned groups." - NECBAC Application packet

  1. Go to the NECBAC website (http://necbac.org/necbac-book-scholarship/) to view a list of schools and to print the application.
  2. If you cannot print the application, see Mrs. Troy in the guidance office for a copy.
