The juniors in Ms.
Cowen's US History II classes and Mr. MacKenzie's AP US History classes had a
great time exploring the collection of over 7,000 authentic WWII artifacts at
the Museum of World War II on Monday. Some stand-outs included the many rifles
and other weapons the students were able to handle, German enigma machines,
prisoners' belongings from Nazi concentration camps, propaganda posters, spy
gear, some of Hitler's personal belongings, parachutes from D-Day, and of
course the Sherman tank! We were also fortunate to have Mr. Richard Dinning as
one of our museum docents, who served as a WWII fighter pilot and spoke with
some of the students about his experiences.
A big 'Thank You' to the
Hull PTO and Hull Boosters Club for helping to fund this great experience.
