Universal Technical Institute Foundation
http://utifoundation.net/get-support-2/

The UTI Foundation is separate from UTI, Inc.

The Foundation is a sole & separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Foundation’s scholarship & grant program has its own qualifications and autonomous review/decision process. No one can make assurances or award offers other than the Foundation through its official, online application portal.

Complete the General Application, and then apply to Recommended Opportunities.

Step 1:   Complete General Application (make sure it reads “Complete” and not “Drafted”)
Step 2: Hover over Opportunities, and select “Recommended” from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Read Recommended Opportunities descriptions. Apply to any you’re qualified for.  You MUST “Apply To” at least one of the Recommended Opportunities to be considered for any of the donor awards that roll up under those umbrella opportunities.
New cycles open and close constantly throughout the year, so if you don’t get selected for an award, keep applying to new Recommended Opportunity pools. Keep your info in your General App current (Maybe your attendance or GPA has changed, or you’ve saved more than you had last time–it may make a difference!) and keep applying to new pools of Recommended Opportunities.  Donor funds don’t grow on trees, so you have to put forth a little effort!

Award offers are sent via email;  You must “Accept” to receive the award.

Imagine, you apply to the Foundation, and get picked for an award. We send the ‘award offer’ to you via email.  (The Foundation no longer mails letters!). But you don’t check your Inbox or sign in to your online dashboard, so you never officially click the “Accept” button… The system assumes you’ve moved to Greenland. After 14-days of no response, the award is officially revoked and offered to someone else. Please, check your Inbox and/or sign in around decision days!

COMMUNITY PAINTING EVENT!

JOIN US FOR AN AFTERNOON OF PAINTING

Mural Project Update

An Opportunity to Paint:
Waves of Change Mural with David Fichter and Hull High School Students On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, thanks to generous funding from the Mass Cultural Council, Hull PTO and Hull Boosters, art students at Hull High School, had their first visit with visiting mural artist David Fichter to begin the planning stages for a mural that will be completed in the high school cafeteria. The goal of the 10-day residency is for all of the art students in grades 9-12 to work with artist David Fichter to create a large-scale mural (51.5 ft x 9 ft) in the high school cafeteria to beautify the space and celebrate the students’ views on community, diversity, and social change thus promoting understanding and acceptance as a value at Hull High School. Since David’s initial visit, students have been working with art teacher, Amanda Davis, to create individual themed drawings that David is in the process of combining to create one cohesive image. David is returning January 4, 2016 to complete the mural with the students at Hull High.

Painting will take place during school time under the guidance of Mrs. Davis and muralist David Fitcher. Students will be provided the opportunity to work on the mural as well. David will be invited back in May to attend Hull High School’s Festival of Harmony and Artistry for the official unveiling of the mural. Members from the community, parents, local newspapers, school committee, PTO, Boosters, MCC and legislators will be invited as well.

Through this experience, students will understand the process of creating a mural through gaining technical skills such as color mixing, working with hues and textures, and how to create a desired contrast. They will demonstrate a purposeful use of elements as well as principles of design to convey their message. Overall, each art student will walk away from this experience with an understanding of the benefits of working as a team and building a sense of unity through mural art.
