New scholarship opportunities are posted below.
Many scholarships require a high school transcript. If a student needs a transcript for a schoalrship, they will need to complete a "Transcript Request Form" for each scholarship (pictured below). This must be turned in to the student's guidance counselor 48 hours before the deadline. Transcripts can be given to the student or mailed to the organization as specified on the application form.
New Scholarships
1. National PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual and Transgender People)
Award: Not specified in material mailed to school
Deadline: In the matierials mailed to the school the deadline is listed as Sunday, March 17th. However, the website lists Sunday, March 31st. To be safe, try to meet the 3/17 deadline.
Eligibility:
- You are a graduating senior entering higher education for the first time in 2013 (if you graduated in 2012 and took a year off you are still eligible to apply).
- Self identify as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or an ally
- Demonstrate an interest in service to the LGBT community.
- Have applied to an accredited higher education institution.

2. Great Boston PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual and Transgender People) - Elsie Frank Scholarship
Award: Up to $15,000
Deadline: March 22, 2013
Eligibility:
Graduating high school student who will enroll in a 2- or 4-year college or technical/vocational school in the 2013-2014 academic year
All students are encouraged to apply: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or straight.
The award will be based solely on responses to the question below and references.
Essay Question (500 words or less) - What do you consider to be the biggest issue facing LGBTQ youth today? How have you been impacted by this personally? One of Greater Boston PFLAG's goals is to "make it better now"; what have you done, or propose to do, that will "make it better now" in your home, school, community or beyond for LGBTQ youth?

3. FLAG (Friends, Lesbians and Gays) Flag Football
Award: $2,500.00
Deadline: Friday, March 22, 2013
Eligibility:
High school student who will be attending a two- or four-year college or a post-high school career school in the 2013-2014 academic year.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has made high school and/or community sports programs safer for and more inclusive of LGBTQ student-athletes, as either a role model or ally.
In line with the mission of the FLAG organization, students of all athletic skill levels and acheivement are encouraged to apply.
All students are encouraged to apply: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or straight.
The award will be based on responses to the questions on the application, the essay below, and two letters of reference.
Essay Question (500 words or less) - Describe your commitment to making school or community sports safer for LGBTQ student-athletes. What have you done as a role model, leader, or ally to make sports more inclusive and to help create a world in which students lean to accept and respect all people? Why is this important to you?

4. Gilbraitti Scholarship
Award: $500.00
Deadline: March30, 2013
Eligibility:
Be between the ages of 16-20
Must be attending a College or University int he Fall of 2013
Must complete the application form, including the essay prior to the deadline
5. Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award
Award: $500.00
Deadline: April 15, 2013
Eligibility:
Over the past 2 years a student must have completed a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work
Over the past 2 years a student must have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or greater
A student must be under the age of 21 years of age on teh day of hte deadline
A student must submit an essay on this year's topic.
6. Plymouth County Beekeepers Association
Award: $500.00
Deadline: April 16, 2013
Eligibility:
High school senior who has been accepted to an accredited 4 year college.
Student should be interested in studying science.
Beekeeping and agriculture interest is a plus.

6A. Pilgrim Scaking Arena Scholarship
Award: $7,500.00
Deadline: April 19, 2013
Eligibility:
High school senior planning to further his/her education
Awarded on basis of merit not financial aid
Student does not need to be a hockey player or figure skater.
How to Apply: The student must pick up and sign for their application in person at Pilgrim's Pro Shop. and return the application in person by Friday, April 19th.

7. Charles Eliot II Scholarship (read below for background information on Mr. Eliot and the scholarship program)
Award: $500.00
Deadline: April 26, 2013
Eligibility:
High school senior planning to futher his/her education in one of these fields (all related to land use planning that will guide our society to a more sustainable future): housing and economic development, transportation, environmental protection, energy conservation, and impact on public health.

8. Healthy Choices Scholarship
Award: $500.00
Deadline: April 30, 2013
Eligibility:
Be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by the fall of 2013
A student can be enrolled at any level in any program that is two years in length or longer
Studenst must be Canadian or U.S. residents.
9. Scholarship by Design Award
Award: $500.00
Deadline: May 1, 2013
Eligibility:
Be currently attending school as a high school senior or as an undergraduate student.
Be a resident of either Canada or the United States.
Be currently attending school on a full-time basis.
10. Hull Artists' Studio Connection
Award: $500.00
Deadline: May 6, 2013
Eligibility:
A student residing in Hull who plans to further studies in the visual arts at an art school, college, or thorugh an organized program of study. This includes an apprenticeship or private study with an artist.
The student should demonstrate artistic promise and talent, and be highly motivated, and have serious intent.

11. Caretenders Scholarship Program
Award: $500.00
Deadline: May 31, 2013
Eligibility:
Be attending an accredited university, college, trades, or technical school in the fall of 2013
In the fall of 2013, you must be attending school in Canada or the United States
12. LM Scholarship Program
Award: $1,000.00
Deadline: May 31, 2013
Eligibility:
Currently enrolled or expected to be enrolled in a degree program (2 years of length or greater) by September.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must submit an essay (question included in online application)
13. Out of the Easy Writing Scholarship Contest
Award: $5,000.00

Eligibility:
14. Rogers Community Volunteer Scholarship
Award: $500.00
Deadline: June 1, 2013
Eligibilty:
Must be attending school full-time in the fall and be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at any level.
You must have contributed a minimum of 10 hours of non-paid, volunteer service within your community during the last 12 months.
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
15. Sedary & Associates Scholarship
Award: $500.00
Deadline: June 15, 2013
Eligiblity:
Be between the ages of 16-22 on the day your application is due.
Be enrolled in a college, university, trades, or technical school by no later than the Fall of 2013
Submit an essay answering the questions on the sponors website.
16. Lift Parts Express Scholarship
Award: $1,000.00
Deadline: June 30, 2013
Eligibility:
You must be either a current high school senior or a freshman or sophomore in a College/University
Be a legal resident of the United State or Canada
